The Best Peanut Butter Cookies!

These classic peanut butter cookies are soft, chewy, and just the best because of brown butter!

This is the best peanut butter cookie recipe! They are soft, chewy, and slightly crumbly. The addition of browned butter makes them extra nutty and delicious.

Ingredients Needed

Unsalted butter, granulated sugar, light or dark brown sugar, egg, egg yolk, creamy peanut butter, vanilla, flour, baking soda, and salt.

Start by browning the butter in a small pot over medium-low heat. It'll melt and begin to bubble. The milk solids will sink and turn brown. Remove from the heat and cool slightly.

Step 1

Whisk the brown butter, peanut butter, and sugars together in a large bowl. Then mix in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla until the texture is like a paste.

Step 2

Fold in the dry ingredients (flour, baking soda, and salt) until the dry flour streaks disappear. Chill the bowl of cookie dough for 30 minutes or so.

Step 3

Once the dough chills, roll into balls. Place each ball in sugar and roll to coat the entire thing.

Step 4

Place the dough balls on a baking sheet and then press a classic crosshatch pattern into each. Bake at 350°F for 9-13 minutes until the edges are set and the middles look slightly raw.

Step 5

Transfer the cookies to a wire rack, cool completely, and enjoy! Want to make this recipe? Check out the full instructions at:
