Lavender Buttercream Frosting

Smooth, fluffy buttercream for frosting Spring cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more.

This lavender frosting is quick and easy to make! You can make it in 5 minutes with only a handful of ingredients. It's smooth and creamy, with a perfect floral flavor for cakes and cupcakes.


Unsalted butter, sea salt, vanilla extract, lavender extract, powdered sugar, heavy cream, and food coloring.

Add softened butter and salt to a large bowl. Then, beat on high with a hand mixer or stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment until smooth and creamy.

Step 1

Mix in the lavender and vanilla. Then, beat in the powdered sugar on low 1 cup at a time. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.

Step 2

Mix in 1-2 tablespoons of heavy cream until the desired consistency is reached. Then, add in purple food coloring if desired.

Step 3
