Brown Sugar Buttercream Frosting

Smooth, fluffy buttercream for frosting cakes, cupcakes, cookies, and more.

This brown sugar frosting is so easy and quick to make! You can make it in 5 minutes with only a handful of ingredients. It's smooth and creamy, perfect for using on cakes and cupcakes.


Unsalted butter, brown sugar (light or dark), salt, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, and milk.

Blend the brown sugar in the food processor (optional). Cream the butter and brown sugar together until it is pale and fluffy.

Step 1

Add the vanilla and salt. Then beat in the powdered sugar on low 1 cup at a time. Add milk until the desired consistency is reached.

Step 2
