This banana buttercream is an American buttercream flavored with banana extract. It's perfect on chocolate cupcakes, cookies, and more.
You will need softened unsalted butter, powdered sugar, banana extract, and heavy cream.
Start by creaming the softened butter in a stand mixer with the paddle attachment on medium high for 5 minutes until creamy.
Slowly mix in half of the powdered sugar on low. Repeat with the second half until light and fluffy.
Mix in the banana extract, salt, and heavy cream until the desired consistency is reached. Then fill a piping bag with the frosting if you want.
