Blueberry Basil Margarita

A blueberry basil margarita is a remix of the classic lime margarita. Made with silver tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, blueberry simple syrup, and fresh basil, these margaritas are unique, refreshing, and irresistible. They only take 5 minutes to make!

Ingredients
 
 

  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt optional for the rim
  • 2 oz tequila blanco or silver
  • 1 oz orange liqueur
  • 1 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz blueberry simple syrup
  • 1 basil leaf

Instructions
 

  • Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glass and place it upside down in the coarse salt, coating the rim. Set aside.

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in the tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, and blueberry simple syrup.
    2 oz tequila, 1 oz orange liqueur, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz blueberry simple syrup
  • Close the cocktail shaker tightly and shake for 30 seconds.
  • Fill your glass with ice and strain or pour the margarita mixture into the glass.
  • Garnish your cocktail with a sprig of fresh basil, a slice of lime, and fresh blueberries and enjoy.

Notes

Use fresh lime juice for the best taste.
Use large ice cubes instead of small ones because they won't melt as quickly.
Storage:  Store leftovers in an airtight container like a mason jar or a bottle with a lid. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. Shake before pouring over ice and serving.
Freezing: Pour your leftover margarita into an ice cube tray and store in the freezer for up to 1 month. When you're ready to enjoy, add the cubes to a blender and blend until smooth.
