A cold and refreshing Spanish cocktail made with fruity red wine and lemon soda.
While sangria is the most popular cocktail with tourists, Tinto de Verano is enjoyed more by locals in Spain. Made with red wine, lemon soda, and citrus, it's the perfect way to beat the heat.
Red wine (young, fruity Spanish red wine preferred), lemon soda or sparkling water, orange, lemon, and ice cubes.
First, add ice to a pitcher and pour in the wine and lemon soda. Stir with a bar spoon until well combined, but make sure the soda doesn't go flat.
Slice the lemons and oranges into wedges or thin rounds. Then, add them to the pitcher of liquid and ice.
Give everything a stir, and be careful to not lose the carbonation. Pour into glasses filled with more ice.
