If you're looking to add a fruity twist to your favorite layer cake, jazz up morning toast, or make a topping for ice cream, this strawberry filling is perfect. It's easy to make with 4 ingredients!
You only need four ingredients: frozen strawberries, granulated sugar, water, and potato starch.
Place a saucepan on the stove over medium heat. Place the frozen strawberries and sugar in it and start cooking them down.
Cook the strawberries and sugar on medium heat for about 15 minutes, stirring often. The strawberries will break down and release their juices.
As the strawberries cook, whisk the water and potato starch together in a separate bowl. Make sure both ingredients are well combined and not clumpy.
Once the strawberries are soft, pour in the potato starch mixture. Turn the heat down to low and stir constantly for 5 minutes.
Once the strawberry filling has thickened, take it off the heat. Let it cool to room temperature before using in your baked goods.
