Spritz Cookie Recipe

Buttery and crisp classic Christmas cookies made into Holiday shapes with a cookie press.

Christmas cookie season is here and these bite-sized German spritz cookies are perfect to make for cookie exchanges or holiday parties. They're made into festive shapes with a cookie press.

Ingredients Needed

Unsalted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract,  almond extract, all purpose flour, and salt. Make sure to use high quality ingredients.

First, cream the butter and sugar together on medium-high speed in the bowl of a stand mixer until light and fluffy.

Step 1

Next, beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract until fully combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula.

Step 2

Gradually mix in the all purpose flour and salt on low speed until the dry streaks of flour just disappear.

Step 3

Fit your cookie press with a decorative metal plate. Then scoop some cookie dough into the cookie press.

Step 4

Press cookies out onto the baking sheet and add sprinkles if desired. Bake each cookie sheet for 7-10 minutes at 350°F until the edges are slightly golden.

Step 5

Decorate the cookies with more sprinkles or chocolate and enjoy! Want to make this recipe? Check out the full instructions at:
