Red Velvet Oreo Cupcakes

Moist and fluffy red velvet cupcakes with Oreo pieces baked into them and tangy Oreo cream cheese frosting.

Oreo red velvet cupcakes are fluffy with Oreo pieces in every bite! They are frosted with a thick Oreo cream cheese frosting. These are easily made from scratch and are perfect for any celebration!

Ingredients for the Cupcakes

Flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, salt, buttermilk, sour cream, oil, eggs, vanilla, vinegar, red food coloring, and Oreos.

Ingredients for the Frosting

Unsalted butter, full fat cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and Oreo cookies.

First mix all purpose flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt together in a large mixing bowl.

Step 1

Whisk buttermilk, sour cream, oil, eggs, vinegar, and vanilla extract together in a separate bowl. Then add the food coloring.

Step 2

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Whisk everything together gently until the batter is smooth.  Then add the Oreo pieces

Step 3

Distribute the batter between cupcake liners in a pan. Bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool completely before frosting.

Step 4

Make the frosting by creaming butter and cream cheese together until smooth. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla, then add crushed Oreos

Step 5
