Brown Butter Rice Krispie Treats

Classic, gooey Rice Krispie treats made with brown butter dipped in melted chocolate!

These brown butter Rice Krispie treats will remind you of childhood. They're elevated with vanilla and, of course, brown butter. Dip them in chocolate and add sprinkles for a nostalgic dessert.

Ingredients Needed

Unsalted butter, marshmallows, vanilla, salt, rice crispie cereal, chocolate, sprinkles.

Melt the butter on medium low in a large pot. It will sizzle and foam. The foam will subside and the milk solids will brown. Take off the heat.

Step 1

Add the marshmallows, vanilla, and salt. Place the pot back on low heat and stir until the marshmallows melt.

Step 2

Mix the rice crispie cereal into the melted marshmallow until it is completely coated in it. Take off the heat.

Step 3

Press the mixture into a lined square pan. Flatten it out with your hands or a rubber spatula. Let set at room temperature for at least 1 hour.

Step 4

Once set, slice the Rice Krispie treats and dip in melted chocolate. You can use any kind of chocolate. Top with sprinkles.
