Almond Spritz Cookies

Crisp, buttery almond Christmas cookies made into festive shapes with a cookie press.

These bite-sized almond spritz cookies are a classic German Christmas cookie you have to make this holiday season! They're so light, buttery, and are so fun to make and decorate.

Ingredients Needed

Unsalted butter, sugar, egg, vanilla extract,  almond extract, all purpose flour, and salt. Make sure to use high quality ingredients.

Start by creaming the butter and sugar together on medium-high speed in the bowl of a stand mixer until it's light and fluffy.

Step 1

Next, beat in the egg, vanilla, and almond extract until fully combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl with a rubber spatula as needed.

Step 2

Gradually mix in the all purpose flour and salt on low speed until the dry streaks of flour just disappear. Don't overmix or the cookies will be tough.

Step 3

Fit your cookie press with a decorative metal plate. Then scoop some cookie dough into the cookie press.

Step 4

Press cookies out onto a cookie sheet and add some sprinkles if desired. Bake each sheet of cookies for 7-10 minutes at 350°F until the edges are set..

Step 5

Decorate the cookies with icing or chocolate and enjoy! Want to make this recipe? Check out the full instructions at:
