This cake is easy to make and perfect for almond lovers!! The almond layers are moist and the almond buttercream is rich and creamy. The toasted almonds add a satisfying crunch!
Cake flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, salt, butter, oil, eggs, egg white, vanilla, almond extract, and buttermilk.
Mix the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt together. Then add the softened butter and beat on low speed for 3-5 minutes.
Add oil, eggs, egg white, vanilla, and almond extract. Mix the batter on low until a thick batter forms.
Scrape down the sides of the mixing bowl. Then stream in the buttermilk, mixing on low until combined.
Scoop the almond cake batter into 2 lined cake pans with a large cookie scoop or ice cream scoop. Bake for 25-35 minutes.
While the almond cakes cool, place sliced almonds on a baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown.
